We need a death penalty for certain crimes - say those involving extreme violence to, or murder of children, for example. Or repeat/serial murderers. For any more, prove that the justice system is infallible or that the death sentence is reversible. Where the intent is punishment Singapore's caning is probably tops among things governments admit to doing.
