Description: Every year to end the ski team season, Auburn Alpine Ski Club near Lake Tahoe has their Spring Fling. The grand finale, is a trench dug out in the snow, lined with plastic and filled with water. Kids, coaches and some parents, attempt to skim across to the other side. Every year...a cross country skier tries to be the first to go across on Nordic (Skinny) skis. In the 4 years I've been watching, no one has made it...most, sink or crash in the first 15 feet. The last minute of the video...is for the guy who ALMOST.....made it. OUCH! |
