rowsdowersavesus ::: Favorites Not the first time I've been called a devil. If you're going to accept "nation" over "tribe" because the translator said so, then you have to accept "hate" over "love less" for the same reason. Lastly, you're wrong. "Nation" in ancient greek was "ethnos" or "sarx". (no idea where you get ehrets) You did get "tribe" right, though. Now what word did they use in the earliest texts? 07-08-31 17:43:17 _____________________________________________________
rowsdowersavesus ::: Favorites You make a lot of points here...or try to. First off, you were wrong on Miseo, you lost any authority on the translation issue. Next, Jesus addressed how the people were scamming people inside the Temple courtyard. Nothing about blocking gentiles from entering a place they couldn't enter anyway. Jesus DID create a religion, and that was the intent. Don't buy this "personal relationship with god" crap, it's a religion. 07-08-31 17:36:49 _____________________________________________________
yeyo1228 ::: Favorites It would seem to make sense that Jesus meant "tribe" but the fact of the matter is that the word for nation is (eh'·rets) and the word for tribe is (dō-de-kä'-fü-lon or fü-lā')...And in Mark 11:17 and in Mark 13:9 the word is nation not tribe. 07-08-31 16:46:27 _____________________________________________________
yeyo1228 ::: Favorites Just to correct you on something, the gentiles where allowed to worship and pray to God before Jesus time. The outer courts where reserved for them to sacrifice their animals before God. You're putting it out of context. Jesus was addressing how the gentiles where being blocked off by the vendors making it hard for them to enter the temple to worship. 07-08-31 16:46:04 _____________________________________________________
yeyo1228 ::: Favorites Jesus didn't come into this world to create a religion but to restore the relationship between man and God. He didn't come here neither to make the bad people good but to bring life to spiritually dead people. So that we can come alive once again like in the days in the Garden. 07-08-31 16:45:21 _____________________________________________________
yeyo1228 ::: Favorites Final point: You can come up with all kinds of translations if you'd like but we need to take the text into face value. Did he really mean "nation" well I think he meant "tribe!"?...That is deception from the devil at its root. That is distorting the word of God and that is why there are so many false religions in this world. Because of people who miss-translate the word of God so that they're itching ears can be appeased. The word is nation not tribe... 07-08-31 16:44:19 _____________________________________________________
rowsdowersavesus ::: Favorites In both of those instances, "tribes" would have been a better translation. As in the 12 tribes of Israel. Think about it:why would a Jew want a Gentile praying in his synagogue? Jesus' religion was initially a sect of Judaism. It was to Jew then what Jehovah's Witnesses and Mormons are to christians today. 07-08-31 15:18:01 _____________________________________________________
yeyo1228 ::: Favorites You are full of minor errors in my opinion. But I will be patient with you. Well since you are using the book of Mark for your defense let me just bring up a couple of verses that clearly show that Jesus died for everyone. And there is allot more in the other gospels. 07-08-31 11:41:06 _____________________________________________________
yeyo1228 ::: Favorites Mark 11:17 And as he taught them, he said, "Is it not written: " 'My house will be called a house of prayer for all nations? But you have made it 'a den of robbers. 07-08-31 11:40:38 _____________________________________________________
yeyo1228 ::: Favorites Mark 13:9 You must be on your guard. You will be handed over to the local councils and flogged in the synagogues. On account of me you will stand before governors and kings as witnesses to them. And the gospel must first be preached to all nations. 07-08-31 11:40:21 _____________________________________________________ |
