Description: I visited the Parliament today and had a great day! I watched First Ministers Questions and got to walk around the Debating Chamber and sit in one of the seats. I also spent a couple of hours doing some research for Jim and his assistant on the net (searching for bad press) and met lots of nice people! Thankyou to Jim Hume and Fiona Milne for arranging this! I had a BRILLIANT day! This video has clips from the actual First Ministers Questions from BBC1 live.

chaosmagickteevee666 ::: Favorites the chamber looks far more modern and user friendly than the old fashioned Westminster one-that seems designed to be adversarial whereas the circular design of this scottish chamber and others I have seen lends itself more to coalitions and co-operativeness.Plus they got better computers at their disposal it looks like! 07-06-26 18:52:55 _____________________________________________________

Jamandell ::: Favorites Exactly! The Scottish Parliament functions much more appropriately and is truely fit for the 21st Century. I'm my opinion the Westminster Parliament really needs to be refurbished. And yeah on their desks they vote electronically, so votes are dealt with instantly (but in Westminster they all have to leave the room and go to another room in the parliament) 07-06-26 19:19:45 _____________________________________________________

riotgrrl54 ::: Favorites Maybe I'm the only one, but I have to throw in really quick, that building is ugly. Other than that (lol) looks like it was fascinating day! I see the scots treat politics with alot more humor and good grace than the yanks, I can turn on CSPAN any given time of the day and count on seeing men who are probably too old to bend over and tie their own shoes snapping at each other over issues that I thought were settled generations ago. 07-06-27 20:38:18 _____________________________________________________
