This was one of my favorite movies. I only saw it once. It came on late night on cable and I stayed up until 4 watching it because it was so captivating. The cinematography was brilliantly superb. I would love to own it on DVD.

I saw this when it was first released in Japan. One of the BEST warring-states period movies ever made. The battle scenes (entirely filmed in Canada) are unmatched even with today's computer generated garbage. The movie isn't "officially" released on DVD yet by the studios, but you can find sub-titled foreign copies of it on eBay. Quality is pretty much like any dvd. I have the rare extended version of this on laser disc. I really should burn that to dvd someday. :)

Nagao-kagetora,Uesugi-masatora and Uesugi-kenshin was same person. but Uesugi-kagetora is an adopted child of Uesugi-kenshin. In other words, as for "kagetora", there are two people.

This is how battles should be fought. In my eyes there is nothing more honorable than two evenly matched oponents fighting face to face until one of them falls. With today's warfare you don't even have to be in the same country to kill your enemy.
